Iteration
After completing the research and participating in design discovery sessions, my design team and I initiated the design process. Our design discovery sessions were instrumental in shaping the direction of our redesign efforts. By collaborating closely with stakeholders, we gained valuable perspectives and insights that informed our design decisions. Through iterative prototyping and user testing, we refined our concepts to ensure they met the needs of our target users. Since Snapbrillia is an agile startup, there's ample opportunity for me to receive continuous advice and input from the entire team. Following several brainstorming sessions and a review of interview notes, it became clear that a dashboard featuring new candidates, summaries of ongoing projects, and DEI pipeline data was essential. The dashboard could serve as an initial step in establishing the overall design tone.
To make the dashboard truly useful for users, it should be easy to scan, relevant to their needs, and customizable. The first inspiration that struck me were the widgets on my phone, so I began by designing boxes that display various project information.

Learning
I am well-versed in the hiring process, yet find it challenging to bridge the gap between the current state and potential of an early-stage startup. It feels like being in a dimly lit room, aware of my surroundings but with limited visibility, focusing on immediate tasks. However, I am supported by cross-functional partners, collaboratively building the product and culture. Key to success is actively seeking feedback and being adaptable to change.
Reflecting on my experience with this project, I've learned the importance of collaboration and adaptability in the design process. By actively seeking feedback and remaining open to iteration, I've been able to drive meaningful improvements in our product. Moving forward, I'm excited to apply these lessons to future design challenges and continue making a positive impact.
